Seattle Peach One Year with Jennifer Peterson from Cafe Society

I had never been to the Homegrown Sustainable Sandwich Shop in Fremont before the Seattle Peach One Year Anniversary and Happy Hour on July 16 and as soon as I walked in the door, I wished I hadn't already eaten.  In a word the smell was yum!  Luckily I had saved room for the special peach drink they developed for the event itself.

There was a small but enthusiastic and positive crowd and it was lovely meeting some we all hushed to listen to Jenn Petersen of Sport'N Life Records talk about her new venture: Cafe Society, which celebrates the renaissance happening in this city’s music scene by hosting a monthly party at a rotating venue that showcases a female artist, according to its Facebook page.

She spoke of what it takes to "make it" as a business woman in the music industry, the gender politics she has experienced and the wisdom she has gained through her personal and professional growth.  The audience was supportive and involved and asked many questions.

Was happy to be there but sad to leave early.  Great job, Jen.  Looking forward to the next one, Seattle Peach.
