Generally, you won't find me at the Skagit Valley Casino (I don't gamble or smoke) but I made the trip over the weekend to check out one of my favorite groups, Blues Traveler.
The Good
They were great, as usual. I really love when artists engage the audience and John Popper is a pro. Always a smirk on his face a shot in hand, you can tell he, and the rest of the group, really enjoy their fans. In turn, we enjoy them, and I personally will see them again but probably not at the Skagit.
The Bad
I honestly hope they don't play the Skagit again. It's more a "sit there and listen to music politely" kind of venue. Chan Kinchla, guitarist, would get hyped and call people up to the stage then and one small staff member would make her way through the crowd telling people to either go back to their seats or go to their knees to "watch" the show. This happened at least five times during the 1.5 hour show and it was SUPER distracting.
My Favorite Song of the Night...
And finally, the set list.....
